Evaluation Criteria
All submitted abstracts are reviewed by a jury to ensure that the project is ready for presentation and to select which authors are invited to present their research orally.
The general criteria are:
Appropriateness of subject: Does the topic build upon or add to the current fund of medical knowledge? Are findings important to the health field

Originality: Is the research hypothesis novel? Did the study look at problem in a new way?

Clarity: Are the purpose and hypothesis/rationale for presenting the research absolutely clear? Is the material clearly presented?

Adequacy of methods: Is the sampling method described? Are data collection procedures clear? Is research design adequate and research methods (e.g., sample, data collection, analysis) conceptually compatible with the research problem? Were recent references included?

Detail: Are the research methods explained in sufficient and concise detail?

Adequacy of summary: Does the research summary include limitations, generalizability, and implications? Do the findings support the conclusions?

Human Subjects: If the research included human subjects, did the speaker note appropriate IRB approvals?
Additional criteria for oral presenters:
Audience engagement: How well did the speaker engage the interest of the audience? Did the speaker use visuals well?
Additional criteria for poster presenters:
Poster: Is the poster laid out well with flow of information from left to right? Are data presented in tables/figures? Is the poster attractive and clear?
